And the best part is? You do not in any way need to have seen the first one to enjoy it! It’s the sequel for people who didn’t see the first one! 2010’s Hell’s Awesome involved Nick and Corey entering the Afterlife in ways they did not expect. Nick found himself in Heaven while Corey found himself in Hell. The twist? Turns out, Heaven sucks and Hell’s Awesome. Yeah, they were surprised too. But by the play’s end, Nick joined his friend in Hell and all was well. OR WAS IT? Turns out Nick and Corey have a new problem: God wants His son Jesus to perform the Second Coming but Jesus has joined Nick and Corey down in Hell. So God tasks Nick and Corey to convince Jesus to finally do the Second Coming. If they fail this task? Eternal damnation for them. So the stakes are high, and their adventure is much more complex than they ever would have imagined. They will have to go through the Nine Circles of Hell and encounter various figures throughout history and mythology to help them achieve their goals. And maybe learn a little bit about friendship along the way. *Fee covers the the cost of using ticketing service and credit card processing, and nothing else. That’s why we can keep it low. We also wonder why some places we won’t name have “fees” that cost almost the same amount as the ticket. For over a decade, Bard Theatre has been committed to creating theatre with which community members from all economic levels connect. If financial issues would keep you from seeing the show, email or call Artistic Director Doug Schutte (502-749-5275 or doug@thebardstown.com). We have provided tickets at no cost to every production for 11 years. |
