DATES: July 26-29, August 2-4 (all 7:30 PM) TICKETS: Advanced $16 Advanced Senior Citizen $14 Advanced Student $12 At the Door $20 (all ticket types) SUMMARY: A play about a spy and a playwright teaming up on a spy mission so the playwright can get inspiration for his new spy play. It may sound confusing, but this James Bond-inspired parody amuses more than it perplexes. Join Nick and Corey as they write their play (conveniently called The Spy and the Playwright) before the audience’s very eyes. Not only do they juggle the many tropes of 007 stories, such as the fancy gadgets, the double-crossing, the action, the evil villains, and the femme fatales, but their disagreements about how the show should go leads to much hilarity and a few twists as well. For example, who is the one who gets to defeat the villain? And which one gets the girl in the end? The audience only knows as much as these two characters, who are still writing the show as it goes on. The Spy and the Playwright is a Louisville-original play written by Corey Music and Nick Potter.
